How it works

The whole process stays light, cozy, and easy to use.

No account wall, no complicated setup, and no extra noise between discovering names and choosing one.

01

Start with the vibe

Choose the feeling first: cute, elegant, funny, color-inspired, or whatever already sounds like your cat.

02

Save the ones that stick

If a name still feels good after a few repeats out loud, it belongs on the shortlist.

03

Pick the final name

The right name usually lands softly. You say it once and immediately know which cat it belongs to.

04

Show off your cat

If you want, upload a photo so the gallery can celebrate one more adorable cat and one more name in the world.

Why I made this site

This started with Pooh and Fifi.

I'm a cat mom of two. My older girl, Pooh, is a silver shaded British Shorthair, and my younger boy, Fifi, is an American Shorthair tabby.

Naming them took me far more thought than I expected. I kept going back and forth, wanting something soft, fitting, and easy to love for years.

I made this site to help new cat parents through that same moment. I also wanted the gallery to feel warm and gentle, a place where you can fully relax, enjoy looking at cats, and spend time in a soft little corner of the internet.

FAQ

A few common questions before you choose your cat’s name.

If you are stuck between a few names or wondering what actually makes a good cat name, start here.

What are good cat names?

First, congratulations on your cat. A good cat name is the one that makes you picture your cat's little face the moment you say it. Short, clear names help, but the real test is simple: does it feel like your cat?

How do I choose a cat name?

Start with a few filters like vibe, color, gender, or length. Save the names that make you pause, say them out loud a few times, and notice which one still feels warm and right.

Should I pick a short cat name?

Usually, yes. Short cat names are easier to call across the room and easier to repeat every day. But a longer name can still be perfect if it has a nickname you naturally use.

Do popular cat names matter?

Popular cat names are useful because they already sound familiar and lovable. If you want something less common, that is fine too. The best cat name is not the most original one, it is the one that feels connected to your cat.

What can I do after picking a name?

You can upload your cat photos to the gallery and let more people meet your adorable companion. You can also check out our guides for new cat owners to find essentials for your furry friend.

Can everyone see my cat photos in the gallery?

Yes. People from around the world can see just how cute your cat is through the gallery. It is a lovely way to share your pet with a global community of cat lovers.
